LEDs

LED - Light Emitting Diode

So you want to bring some style to your Technics SL-1200 / 1210. You have come to the right place.

First let us go over a few key points to consider when thinking about installing LEDs into your table.

Installation: While sure it seems easy enough with all sorts of beginner tutorials online as well as several places to buy LED packages for "DIY" (do it yourself) installations you may want to ponder this for a moment. One wrong connection (short) and say "bye bye" to your main board. Well not exactly bye bye but definitely your main board will need major work which can not be fixed by you unless you have the skills, equipment, & education. So if I was to give one piece of advice... leave it to the pro's. If you mess up its a costly adventure.

Quality of Product: I have seen some pretty interesting cheap alternatives to quality LEDs and some even more interesting ways of adapting round LED's to make them look rectangular. (See Installation). China is a great example of cheap LEDs that fail. Not all but even if one fails and its in your unit, its a pain to reinstall another once your turntable is back together.

Safety: I know it sounds like a boring subject but if you can't see what your buying DON'T. The LED packages they sell on-line / ebay are cheap and may not be what you are expecting. Example: You buy Green LED's and you end up getting 1970 "diffused" LEDS that are colored Green. This is a old style of LEDs and are far from impressive. Or you find this great deal on a Under Platter Kit only to find that you bought a LED strip which you could have bought yourself that forces you to remove the grill under your platter. Listen if the grill was not needed do you think Technics would have manufactured it?

Ok so on to what we provide. All of our LEDS are:

  • Made in North America
  • Constructed by people with electrical experience
  • Installed by professionals who have been doing this more then likely longer then you have known about 1200's
  • Made to fit the original Technics 1200 / 1210 design
  • Super Bright / Water Clear LEDs
  • Installed with warranty
